CONTEXT & ORIGIN

The story we can substantiate.

The producer says Olmeca Altos was created in 2009 by bartenders Dre Masso and Henry Besant with Maestro Tequilero Jesús Hernández. The stated process uses slow cooking in brick ovens, Tahona and roller milling, fermentation, copper distillation and barrel aging for the aged expressions.

Production & positioning

The producer documents Plata as the traditional core expression and supplies a 43% ABV listing on its Pernod Ricard page, while no official bottle volume or USD price was found in the cited sources.

Historical context is attributed to the cited official sources. Independently corroborated awards and additive certifications remain pending. We do not reproduce producer superlatives as independent findings.

Coverage & source limitations

Initial official-media limitation: Official product pages identify the three core expressions but do not expose direct, expression-specific bottle image URLs in accessible HTML; product imageUrl values are therefore null rather than using a generic packshot. Catalogue display was completed on 2026-10-16 with separately credited retailer photographs; this does not resolve factual specification gaps.

No official source reviewed supplied bottle volume, NOM, distillery name or USD price with a stated bottle size.

ABV is market/page-specific: the Pernod Ricard producer page lists Plata at 43% and Reposado/Añejo at 40%; verify the intended US label before publishing if the catalogue is US-only.

The producer's About Us page says both Reposado and Añejo are aged at least 12 months, while the product page explicitly confirms that duration for Añejo only. Reposado aging is left null to avoid resolving the inconsistency by inference.

IN CONTEXT

Compare the brand.

Does a brand profile mean Compare Tequila recommends every expression?

No. A profile is an evidence record, not an endorsement. We publish no independent tasting score in this release.

Are these prices typical nationwide?

No. They are producer-store observations where available, recorded on the field's stated date before shipping and tax. Prices can differ by market, bottle format, channel and availability.
