CONTEXT & ORIGIN

The story we can substantiate.

Fortaleza says the brand launched in 2005 and traces its family history to Don Cenobio's 1873 La Perseverancia distillery in Tequila, Jalisco. The company says Don Javier's grandson Guillermo restarted Destileria La Fortaleza after renovations beginning in 1999, using a small brick oven, tahona, wood fermentation vats, and the original copper pots.

Production & positioning

The standard Blanco is documented at 40% ABV and 100% agave, with NOM 1493 and a clearly described stone-oven, stone-crushed, wood-fermented, copper-pot process. Its official tasting description emphasizes citrus and cooked-agave character; official USD pricing and bottle volume are not provided.

Historical context is attributed to the cited official sources. Independently corroborated awards and additive certifications remain pending. We do not reproduce producer superlatives as independent findings.

Coverage & source limitations

The official catalogue also lists Fortaleza Blanco (Still Strength), but it was excluded because the requested core set is normally capped at three and the still-strength release is outside the standard Blanco/Reposado/Añejo set.

Official producer pages do not provide bottle volume or USD pricing for these products, so those fields are null.

The official Blanco page does not state a barrel or numeric aging period; those fields are null. The Reposado page says each lot is individually aged in American Oak but gives no numeric period.

No official producer serving/use guidance was located, so use fields are null.

No official finish wording was located for the Añejo page, so finish is null.

Compare the brand.

Does a brand profile mean Compare Tequila recommends every expression?

No. A profile is an evidence record, not an endorsement. We publish no independent tasting score in this release.

Are these prices typical nationwide?

No. They are producer-store observations where available, recorded on the field's stated date before shipping and tax. Prices can differ by market, bottle format, channel and availability.
